NAPLES, Fla. – A pair of Duke women's golf alumnae –
Lindy Duncan and
Miranda Wang – were recognized Monday evening at the 2025 Rolex Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Awards banquet, which took place prior to the LPGA Tour's season finale in Naples.
Duncan, a 2013 Duke graduate, was presented with the Heather Farr Perseverance Award. The award honors an LPGA Tour player who, through her hard work, dedication and love of the game of golf, has demonstrated determination, perseverance and spirit in fulfilling her goals as a player.
"For years I thought joy was earned," said Duncan. "Through accomplishment, now I believe joy is a choice independent of scores and outcomes. That shift, choosing joy over validation, gave me the freedom to be honest and vulnerable. Freedom to play and live freely."
Entering the final event of the 2025 campaign, Duncan has turned in her best professional season to date with a career-high six top-10 finishes, which is highlighted by a tie for second at The Chevron Championship. She recorded back-to-back top-10 finishes of the first time in her career during the fall Asia swing. Duncan has registered $1,177,085 in earnings heading into this week, which ranks 29th on the tour.
A 2020 Duke graduate, Wang was one of 11 Rolex First-Time winners that were honored on the evening. Wang won her first LPGA event in August at the FM Championship in Massachusetts. She carded rounds of 66, 67, 65 and 70 to win by one stroke with a 20-under-par, 268. Wang finished fifth in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year standings and currently sits 31st on the official money list with $1,118,946 earnings.
Duncan, Wang,
Celine Boutier and
Leona Maguire will tee it up at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples beginning Thursday to close the 2025 LPGA season.
