QUOTES
- "This was a big-time honor for our program. Those cadets are doing something way more important than we are – serving our country and the commitment they've made. For us to do this on Veterans Day was incredibly meaningful, especially to share this with Coach K and our players. They don't get a lot of time to be around him. For Coach K to share in it with our players was very meaningful for me. Then, I thought it was just a very business-like approach tonight. They obviously played [hard]. They did a great job sharing the ball. I thought just our commitment to defend, rebound and share the ball was what stood out for me tonight. I'm very proud of the effort and have a ton of respect for West Point. I'm really grateful for them hosting us for this game." - Duke head coach Jon Scheyer
- "Part of us being here was just to show our gratitude. Yesterday we had an amazing day. We practiced here, but then we toured West Point. I'm a history major so I know some, but I didn't nearly know all the history that was behind West Point, the origin of it all. For our players, I think they just have tremendous respect for these guys, the commitment they've made, the sacrifice they're making. To understand, again, being part of something bigger than just yourself, like that's what Army is all about. In our two days we've been here, that's the biggest takeaway I've had. Really grateful. Really proud of our country. Proud of these men and women that serve the country." - Scheyer about the team's experience at West Point
- "I was just taking it in and just appreciating the experience while we're here – knowing what Coach K means to both programs – and just learning as much as we can while keeping a competitive mindset. I just think we're learning what it takes to pull away from teams, especially on the road. Again, it comes back to rebounding and guarding the ball. I feel like on offense, Coach (Evan) Bradds has done a great job. As soon as we need to do something on offense, Coach Scheyer is magician with the board. We have to, as a team, just learn how to start off strong on defense immediately and not wait until the other team hits a couple of shots." - Duke sophomore guard/forward Isaiah Evans
- "My defensive mindset. I think last game I wasn't so aggressive on defense. After talking with the coaches, that's not who I am. So today, I just wanted to bring myself, be aggressive on defense, and everything else came together. Whenever I'm focused on defense, then everything else comes by itself. I didn't try to force it, it just came. And that's what I'm trying to do every time." - Duke freshman guard/forward Dame Sarr
