Sign Up for Big Sets for Little Hearts Heading into Spring Season

DURHAM, N.C. – As both the Duke men's and women's tennis teams prepare to open the 2025 dual match slate, the Blue Devils are encouraging fans to sign up for the Big Sets for Little Hearts program.
This past fall, Duke announced a partnership with the Duke Children's Hospital Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center called Big Sets for Little Hearts. All fans are encouraged to pledge to be involved in the program to help raise money for Duke Children's.
Big Sets for Little Hearts pledges will be made based on the number of sets won by the men's and women's tennis programs. Last year, both tennis teams combined for 647 sets won. In the fall, Duke raised $1,599.60 and are looking to increase that amount a lot this spring.
If you are interested in supporting Blue Devil tennis' partnership with Duke Children's, you can pledge for each set won during the season or make a one-time donation. Pledges start at $0.10, $0.50, $1.00 and $2.50. Based on last year's results, the smallest pledged donation would be equal to $64.70
The Duke Children's Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center is the No. 2 ranked pediatric cardiology and heart surgery program in the United States for newborns and children with congenital and acquired heart disease. The Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center strives to improve their patients' outcomes and the quality of their lives.
To be able to accomplish this, the center achieves some of the highest survival rates in the U.S. in very sick patients who require advanced, complex care. The Heart Center performed more than 450 heart operations in 2023, including significantly more complicated procedures than many other centers nationally. The Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center was the first to successfully perform several new approaches to pediatric heart transplant surgery, including donation after cardiac death transplantation, partial heart transplantation, combination heart and thymus transplantation. They pioneered new surgical techniques that lower risk and ensure heart surgery is better tolerated by the tiniest babies.
The women's team opens the spring Saturday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m., as the Blue Devils host James Madison. The men's program opens play Jan. 18 against Elon at 12 p.m. Both matches will be contested inside the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center on campus and are free admission.
