VICTORIA, Australia – A year after taking home the title at the Australian Master of the Amateurs in Victoria, Australia, Duke women's golf incoming freshman
Rianne Malixi turned in a third-place finish to open 2025.
Malixi, a product of Philippines, posted rounds of 74, 68, 73 and 74 for a 3-under-par, 289. Following four birdies over her first 11 holes in the final round, Malixi took the outright lead. She suffered a bogey and double-bogey on holes No. 12 and No. 13, while closing with five straight pars to finish with a 74 in the final round. At the end, she closed three shots off the lead.
Over the four rounds, Malixi totaled 22 birdies, which ranked tied for second among the field.
Hyojin Yang hoisted the title with a 6-under, 286.
