DURHAM, N.C. - Duke junior cornerback Chandler Riversconcluded his All-America collection with a spot on the Phil Steele All-America Fourth Team. Rivers finishes the campaign with four All-America nods: The Athletic (Second Team), College Football Network (Second Team), the Associated Press (Third Team) and Phil Steele (Fourth Team).
Rivers, a 5-10, 180-pound Beaumont, Texas, native, closed his outstanding season with 54 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, three interceptions, nine pass breakups, three quarterback pressures, two caused fumbles and one fumble recovery. The All-ACC First Team selection tied the Duke record with interceptions in three consecutive games (vs. Florida State, SMU and Miami) this season, becoming the first Blue Devil to accomplish the feat since John Talley in 2006.Â
In ACC games, Rivers finished with 40 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 1.0 sack, three interceptions, eight pass breakups, one caused fumble and one fumble recovery.Â
Rivers gives the Blue Devils three consecutive years with a Phil Steele All-America, following Graham Barton (2022 and 2023), DeWayne Carter (2023) and Porter Wilson (2023).Â
