- Stanford started to chip away at Duke's lead in the fourth quarter, cutting the advantage to 14 and forcing the Blue Devils into a timeout. The Cardinal scored the first seven points of the period to bring it to the closest since the 3:22 mark of the second quarter.
- The Blue Devils came out of the timeout with Fournier cashing in on an old-fashioned three-point play to take the lead back to 17, 62-45. Duke tacked on 12 more points in the final six minutes for the 25-point victory.
