PARIS - The Blue Devils continued competition at the 2024 Olympics on Friday with action in women's golf, track & field and women's basketball. Here is a recap from action on Aug. 9 in France.
Boutier in Top 10 Heading into Final Round in France
Representing her home country of France, Celine Boutier carded a 1-under-par, 71, on Friday in the third round of action in the Olympic golf competition and enters the final round five shots off the individual lead at the Le Golf National in Paris.
Boutier, a 2016 Duke graduate, is currently tied for seventh with a 4-under, 212, and three shots off of third place with 18 holes remaining. After leading the field after day one with a 65, Boutier has turned in rounds of 76 and 71 the last two days in front of her home fans in France.
Morgane Metraux leads the field at 9-under, 207.
Fellow Duke golfers Ana Belac, a 2020 graduate, is tied for 46th with rounds of 77, 72 and 76 for a 225, while Leona Maguire, a 2018 graduate, is 59th with a 240.
The final round will be televised live on Golf Channel.
Canada Advances to Women's 4x400m Final
The Canadian Women's National Team advanced to Saturday's 4x400m relay final courtesy of a solid performance in the opening round. Canada secured its spot on time, clocking 3:25.77 to finish among the top half of the field. Former Blue Devil

United States Powers Past Australia into Gold Medal Game
The U.S. women's basketball team moved one step closer to its ultimate goal, punching its ticket to Sunday's gold medal game via an 85-64 triumph over Australia in the Olympic semifinal. The United States outscored Australia, 25-11, in the second quarter to increase the margin to 19 at the half and never looked back en route to picking up the squad's 60th consecutive win.
Chelsea Gray had a solid all-around game for the Americans contributing five points, five dimes, three boards and three steals in 19 minutes of action. The United States gears up to take on France in the Olympic final slated for Sunday, August 11 at 9:30 a.m. live on NBC.
