DURHAM, N.C. – Duke freshman
Arianna Roberson and the USA Basketball 3x3 U18 Women's National Team picked up their sixth consecutive and eighth overall FIBA 3x3 World Cup gold medal after besting Japan, 21-19, in a tightly-contested title game.
USA Basketball advanced to the championship by way of victories over Spain (18-12) and China (21-8), respectfully, in Friday's quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. The United States earned the top overall seed for the knockout rounds after breezing through group play with convincing wins over Egypt (21-5), Latvia (21-11), New Zealand (21-6) and Poland (21-4).
