DETROIT, Michigan – Former Duke women's basketball standout
Mistie Bass-Boyd has been hired by the Detroit Pistons as the Executive Director, Player Engagement & Basketball Operations, the organization announced Wednesday.
Bass-Boyd joins the Pistons after most recently serving as Director of Team and Athlete NBA/Grassroots Marketing for Nike Basketball's Sports Marketing arm. She also spent time as an Assistant Product Line Manager with Nike Basketball Apparel before being promoted to Product Line Manager focused on Women's Lifestyle Capsules and Collections in 2020.
A three-time All-ACC selection and member of the 2003 and 2006 NCAA Final Four teams, Bass-Boyd played for the Blue Devils from 2002-06 amassing 1,409 points, 800 rebounds and 131 blocks during her Duke career. The Janesville, Wisconsin product helped lead Duke to ACC Tournament championships in 2003 and 2004 and three consecutive league regular season titles from 2003-05. During her collegiate career, the Blue Devils' women's basketball team won more games than any other four-year period in school history.
Following her time at Duke, Bass-Boyd was selected by the Phoenix Mercury with the 21st selection in the 2006 WNBA Draft before being traded to the Houston Comets. She played in the WNBA and internationally from 2006-18, winning an WNBA Championship with the Phoenix Mercury in 2014.
