DURHAM – Duke women's basketball hits the road for the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge as the Blue Devils will make the trek down to Columbia, S.C., to square off against defending national champion South Carolina on Thursday, Dec. 5, as the matchups for the second year of the interconference challenge were unveiled Wednesday evening. TV designation and tip time for the contest will be announced at a later date.
The Blue Devils and Gamecocks have played nine times over the history of the respective programs, with South Carolina holding a 7-2 advantage in the all-time series. The teams most recent matchup took place last season (Dec. 3) at Cameron Indoor Stadium in the Jimmy V Classic, with the top-ranked Gamecocks pulling away late for a 77-61 victory.
Duke won its inaugural challenge game last season against Georgia, defeating the Lady Bulldogs in overtime, 72-65.
On the heels of the 2023-24 campaign which saw Duke notch its second consecutive 20-win season (22-12) and advance to the program's 18th Regional Semifinal – the first since 2018 – the Blue Devils return four starters and 11 letterwinners while welcoming the nation's No. 7 incoming recruiting class, as
Kara Lawson enters her fifth season at the helm of the program.
