DURHAM — With the 2023-24 women's basketball season officially wrapping up this past weekend, the
Associated Press released its final top-25 poll of the year on Monday afternoon with Duke checking in at No. 17 in the rankings.
Duke, which tallied its second consecutive 20-win season and advanced to the program's 18th Regional Semifinal and first since 2018, finished the season with a 22-12 overall record that included an 11-7 mark in ACC action. The 2023-24 campaign saw the Blue Devils play the nation's third-toughest schedule, finish the season with an NCAA NET ranking of 20 and post five wins over ranked opponents, including a 75-63 victory over No. 7 Ohio State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to advance to the Sweet 16.
The Blue Devils posted the ACC's top defensive for the second consecutive season while checking in at No. 4 in the NCAA in that same metric, according to HerHoopStats. Additionally, Duke held 33 of its 34 opponents this season below their respective season scoring averages and spent the entire 2023-24 season ranked among the top-10 nationally in blocks per game.
