DURHAM – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced the 2024 Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List on Wednesday afternoon and Duke right-hander
Charlie Beilenson was one of 59 relief pitchers recognized.
Beilenson, a six-foot righty from Los Angeles, Calif., has worked 39.1 innings on the year and posted a 5-2 record on the mound. He is holding opponents to a .189 batting average against and punched out 57 batters to just 12 walks. Beilenson was named the ACC Pitcher of the Week, following a 2-0 record on the mound with his ninth save of the season across 6.2 innings of work.
He allowed one hit during his three appearances last week, striking out 10 batters, as Duke collected its fourth consecutive ACC series victory and third top-25 series win. The Blue Devils are one of two ACC programs with players on the watch list, joining North Carolina.
