INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend tips-off on Friday, Feb. 16 and concludes with the 73rd NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 18, with three former Duke Basketball standouts selected to participate in the various events throughout the weekend in Indianapolis.
Jayson Tatum makes his fifth All-Star Game appearance and fourth straight as a starter. The former Blue Devil is joined by
Paolo Banchero, who makes his first All-Star Game in just his second season in the league. Banchero is also participating in the Skills Challenge and in the Rising Stars event alongside rookie
Dereck Lively II.
Tatum is ninth overall in the NBA for scoring, averaging 27.1 points per game, while also putting up 8.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Banchero, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, was selected as a reserve for the Eastern Conference after averaging 23.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists through the first 55 games of his sophomore campaign.
The festivities begin on Friday evening with the Rising Stars mini-tournament that includes both Banchero and Lively at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
Saturday, Banchero returns to action and kicks off State Farm All-Star Saturday Night as a member of Team Top Picks in the Skills Challenge at 8 p.m. ET on TNT. Coverage of Sunday's All-Star Game begins at 8 p.m. ET, also on TNT.
The 73rd All-Star Game returns to a format of Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference, playing a traditional scoring style consisting of four 12-minute quarters. While the event will no longer have an untimed fourth quarter or conclude when one team reaches or surpasses the Final Target Score, the teams will continue to compete to win each quarter for a charitable organization of their choosing.
