HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jeremy Roach quickly opened the scoring, drilling a three-pointer on Duke's first possession of the afternoon. Kyle Filipowski stepped into a fast-break shot from distance shortly after to put the Blue Devils up early, 6-5. A layup through traffic by Filipowski increased the early lead to five, 10-5, and Duke led 14-9 at the first media break of the game.
- A scoring drought of just under three minutes was snapped when Tyrese Proctor slammed home his first points of the contest off a steal, putting Duke back in front by five, 16-11. The Blue Devils made three straight shots while limiting Boston College to a stretch of just 1-of-7 from the floor to open up an eight-point lead, 22-14, as the clock ticked under 10 minutes in the first half.
- The Eagles drew within three, 25-22, triggering a timeout by Duke with 6:27 remaining in the opening frame. Boston College took the lead, 28-27, after consecutive three-pointers. Two straight post buckets from Sean Stewart re-established Duke's advantage, 31-28, and the Blue Devils went into halftime up by four, 36-32.
- Jared McCain connected a three-pointer right out of the break and Mark Mitchell floated in his second basket of the game on the next trip down the floor. Roach hit a corner three-pointer and gave Duke its largest lead of the game so far, 49-37, after just over five minutes of second-half action. A three-pointer and fast-break layup from Mitchell made it 56-43 game and forced a Boston College timeout with 12:28 on the clock.
- A Proctor three-pointer and layup by Filipowski in the span of 28 seconds expanded the lead to 17, 65-48, at the eight-minute mark. The lead narrowed to 12, 67-55, after a Boston College fast-break layup with just over five minutes remaining in the game.
- A late three-pointer from Mitchell and two free-throws by Roach helped Duke close out the 80-65 victory.

QUOTES
- "Thought it was just a really good win for us. I thought our defense was terrific throughout. Nineteen assists for our team. I thought we really had some great sharing today, where guys are making the right play and it turned into points. We talked about as a team, Boston College has been down double digits in many games. And so, every time we got a lead in the second half, we kept referencing that. Our guys did a great job of just playing every possession. And Mark [Mitchell] came through big-time in the second half. I thought [Kyle Filipowski] had a different bounce to his step today. All the guys that played. I thought Sean Stewart's minutes were key today. He had some key minutes at the end of the first half when we got the lead, coming back in the second half, he's just growing every single game. Great effort, great win. And we have a quick turnaround for Monday now." - head coach Jon Scheyer
- "We did a good job getting the lead, coming out strong in the first half, but then we kind of were letting up a little bit. We gave them the lead back and then the last three minutes, we did a good job – we worked on that in practice – of just not letting up those last three minutes of the first half, putting ourselves in a good position going into the second half. We did that, but we can still do a much better job from what we showed today. Coming out [strong] in the first four minutes of the second half really gives your team a big boost for the rest of the game, so that's what we tried to do." - center Kyle Filipowski
