DURHAM, N.C. – Coming off being tabbed United Soccer Coaches All-American earlier this week, the Duke women's soccer quartet of
Hannah Bebar,
Maggie Graham,
Leah Freeman and
Cameron Roller earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America this week for their efforts in the classroom and on the pitch.
Of the 33 Academic All-America selections for 2024, only 14 were also United Soccer Coaches All-America selections with Duke featuring four of those 14. Prior to this season, the Blue Devils had only three players be named both All-America and Academic All-America in the same season –
Christina Gibbons (2016),
Imani Dorsey (2017) and
Kayla McCoy (2018).
The four Blue Devils combined to boast a 3.865 grade-point average at Duke. Both Bebar and Graham earned first team honors, while Freeman and Roller were named to the CSC Academic All-America team.
Currently enrolled in the Fuqua School of Business MMS program, Bebar owns a 3.82 grade-point average. A three-time All-American from Naperville, Ill., Bebar was the conductor of Duke's midfield in 2024 starting all 22 matches. She posted three goals and five assists for 11 points. Bebar received a Bachelor of Arts degree in government this past May.
Graham joins her sister, Delaney Graham, as family members to be named CSC Academic All-America. A product of Atlanta, Ga., Maggie graduated from Duke in May of 2024 with a degree in political science. She owns a 3.89 grade-point average and is currently obtaining a master's in public policy at Duke. Graham started all 22 matches for the Blue Devils in 2024 along with 14 goals and five assists for 33 points. She was the ACC Midfielder of the Year and a Hermann Award finalist.
One of the top goalkeepers nationally, Freeman owns a 3.81 grade-point average, while obtaining a political science degree. A native of Berkeley, Calif., Freeman helped lead Duke to 12 shutouts, including four-straight in NCAA Tournament action. She finished her career with 40 wins in goal and 30 clean sheets. She became the first player to be named Goalkeeper of the Year in two different conferences – ACC and Pac-12.
Roller, just a sophomore with the Blue Devils, was one of the top defenders nationally. She played a team-high 1,864 minutes and helped guide Duke to 12 shutouts. Roller, who is from Sherman, Texas, also added four goals, four assists and 12 points from the backline. The ACC Defender of the Year is majoring in psychology and owns a 3.94 grade-point average.
All four Blue Devils helped lead Duke to a very impressive season with an 18-3-1 overall and 9-0-1 ACC ledger. Duke advanced to the NCAA College Cup for the fifth time in program history, won the ACC Regular Season title for the fourth time in Blue Devil history and sent head coach
Robbie Church off into retirement after one of the most impressive seasons in Duke history.
