DURHAM, N.C. – Duke graduate wide receiver Eli Pancol was named the ACC Wide Receiver of the Week following the Blue Devils' 31-28 Senior Night victory against Virginia Tech on Saturday.
Playing his final game at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium, Pancol caught five passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns.
A native of Pendleton, Ind., Pancol finished an outstanding first quarter with three receptions for 175 yards and two scores. His first two TD grabs covered 86 and 77 yards. His first quarter allowed him to join Utah State's Jalen Royals as the only FBS players this season with 175 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in a single quarter.
Pancol added a third touchdown catch in the second quarter to become one of nine Blue Devils with three or more TD grabs in a single game. The 188 total yards marked the 13th highest single-game total in Duke history while his 37.60 yards per reception average marked the fifth highest single-game total in Duke history.
