DURHAM, N.C. – The True Blue Podcast, spearheaded by the Blue Devil Network, is a student-athlete led video podcast designed to uncover and share the stories that feature Duke student-athletes.
The overarching goal of the True Blue Podcast is to provide fans with a greater insight into the human side of Duke Athletics through open and unadulterated conversations. True Blue is all about showing the outside world who Duke student-athletes are when they step off the fields of play. Hosted by senior Duke field hockey player
Shelby Bumgarner, this will be released on a monthly basis.
Maggie Graham, a women's soccer graduate student from Atlanta, is TBP's seventh guest.
Graham attended high school at The Westminster Schools, scoring the winning goal for a state championship her freshman campaign before sitting out her sophomore, junior and senior seasons to play Development Academy. At the club level, she competed as a four-year captain for the NTH Tophat DA program. She also played for the U16 National Team during her sophomore year of high school for one year, and was called up the U18 Women's National Team to play in the Tricontinental Cup her senior year, when she scored her first international goal against China.
Graham has had a breakout season in her final year at Duke with a team-high 10 goals, five assists and 25 points. The All-ACC honors are the first of her career with the Blue Devils. In ACC regular season play, Graham ranked tied for first in goals (7) and tied for second in points (18). Graham had totaled eight goals and 10 assists prior to her impressive 2024 season, so far.
With Graham earning All-ACC honors, she joins her sister, Delaney, as family members to be named All-ACC during their career for Duke women's soccer. They are just the ninth sister duo in league history to earn the distinction.
Maggie Graham joins Quinn (2017) as the only other Blue Devil to be named ACC Midfielder of the Year.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Graham also is a three-time All-ACC Academic team honoree, along with earning Dean's List with Distinction at Duke in the Fall of 2022 and Spring of 2023.
In this episode of True Blue, Bumgarner and Graham discuss her upbringing in Atlanta, playing soccer with Delaney at Duke, goal-scoring and her special graduate season.
