DURHAM – Duke men's lacrosse head coach
John Danowski has announced the 2024 schedule featuring nine home contests and 10 contests overall against USA Lacrosse Magazine preseason top-20 programs.
The Blue Devils posted a 16-3 record last season en route to capturing the ACC Championship and advancing to the NCAA Championship game. Duke will play four games in the month of February, eight in March and three in April. The ACC Tournament returns this year and will take place in Charlotte, N.C., May 3-5.
Season tickets are available for purchase for $72 and are good for admission for all nine home men's lacrosse games. Single game tickets are $11 and kids two-and-under are free.
The February Schedule
Duke opens the 2024 campaign at Koskinen Stadium Feb. 3 when it hosts Bellarmine. The Blue Devils hit the road to High Point Feb. 10 before closing out the month at home against Saint Joseph's and Jacksonville, respectively. The matchup with the Dolphins will be a Friday night special, Feb. 23.
A Jam-Packed March Slate
March comes in like a lion with Ivy League leaders Penn and Princeton visiting Durham for the weekend. The Blue Devils host Penn March 1 before welcoming the Tigers to Koskinen Stadium March 3. It will be the first time since 2002 Duke and Princeton have faced off. The Ivy League power leads the series 8-1 with the Blue Devils' lone victory coming in 1952. Duke and Penn have a recent history with the Blue Devils trailing 7-6 overall. Both teams have won five games apiece since the rivalry was renewed in 2010.
The Blue Devils make the first of two trips to Baltimore for their annual matchup against Loyola before returning home to host Providence in a midweek tilt. Duke caps its spring break at Richmond, taking on the Spiders for the seventh straight season.
Duke opens ACC play with a rare midweek contest at Syracuse, March 20. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m., in the JMA Wireless Dome. The Blue Devils cap the road stretch with a neutral site matchup against Denver in Baltimore. The busy month of eight games in 27 days ends with a home game against Boston University on March 27.
All ACC All April
After a needed weekend off at the end of March, Duke hosts preseason No. 1 Notre Dame (April 7) and preseason No. 3 Virginia (April 14) on consecutive weekends. The Blue Devils are looking to avenge a pair of setbacks to the Fighting Irish last season and aiming to continue its regular season win streak against the Cavaliers. Duke rounds out the regular season at North Carolina, April 27. The Blue Devils went 5-1 in league action last season to capture their 10th ACC crown.
The ACC Tournament is Back
The ACC will crown an ACC Tournament champion for the first time since 2019. The top four teams will qualify for the tournament to be held at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. The semifinals take place May 3 and the championship May 5.
