DURHAM – The preseason honors continue to roll in for the Blue Devils men's lacrosse team ahead of the 2024 opener Saturday, Feb. 3 as Inside Lacrosse announced its Preseason All-America teams. Duke's
Kenny Brower, Jake Naso and
Brennan O'Neill lead the way with first-team recognition by the media outlet.
Also garnering mention by Inside Lacrosse are
Tyler Carpenter on the third team as a longstick midfielder and
Dyson Williams (attack),
Andrew McAdorey (midfield) and
Aidan Maguire (SSDM) at honorable mention. Brower, Naso and O'Neill are consensus preseason first-team All-Americans, while Carpenter nabbed third-team honors from both USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse.
Additionally, Brower and O'Neill were named the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and the Preseason Player and Attackman of the Year, respectively.
McAdorey picks up his first preseason accolade after earning USILA and Inside Lacrosse honorable mention nods last season. The Manorville, N.Y., native has played both in the midfield and at attack for the Blue Devils. He started all 19 games last season at attack, registering 36 goals and 25 assists for 61 points. He notched at least one goal in 16 games and had at least one point in 18 of the 19 outings. A starter in all 36 games, he has 59 goals and 41 assists for 100 points.
Maguire was an anchor to Duke's rope unit as a rookie, picking up 24 ground balls and causing 10 turnovers. A threat in transition for the Bluel Devils, the Hingham, Mass., native scored five goals and dished one assist. He led all short-stick middies in ground balls and ranked sixth on the team and first among defensive midfielders in caused turnovers.
The preseason No. 2 Blue Devils open the 2024 campaign Saturday, Feb. 3 against Bellarmine. Faceoff is set for 12 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium. Season tickets are available for purchase through this Saturday and are $78. Single-game tickets are $11. Tickets are available for purchase at
