DURHAM --Â Second-year head coach
Jon Scheyer and the Duke men's basketball team officially began preparation for the 2023-24 season on Monday with the team's first practice. With practice underway, the countdown is on to the Blue Devils' season-opener versus Dartmouth in 42 days on Monday, Nov. 6.
Duke welcomes back nearly 80 percent of its offense from last season, which saw the team win the ACC Championship, post a 27-9 overall record while going undefeated (16-0) at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Scheyer's debut season. Among the returnees are senior
Jeremy Roach, last year's ACC Freshman of the Year
 Kyle Filipowski, along with sophomore teammatesÂ
Tyrese Proctor and
Mark Mitchell.
Duke begins the preseason with Countdown to Craziness on Friday, October 20 at Cameron Indoor Stadium, with the lone exhibition game set for Wednesday, Nov. 1 vs. UNC Pembroke.
