Chris Pollard announced the addition of 12 new transfers for the 2023-24 roster.
Jackson Emus – RHP/1B – Gr. – Princeton
Emus joins the Blue Devils' squad after an impressive career with the Princeton Tigers. The Clinton, Mass., native threw 125.1 innings in his two seasons, tallying 134 strikeouts and holding opponents to a .250 average at the plate. Emus also appeared in 50 games in the field, collecting 28 hits and a .318 average in 2022. On April 28, Emus started and struck out nine batters in a combined no-hitter at Yale.
Tim Noone – LHP – Gr. – Babson College

D3Baseball.com Region I second team and 2022-23 All-NEWMAC first team recipient, Noone joins the Duke baseball squad for the 2024 campaign. In his career at Babson College, Noone posted a 2.60 ERA on the mound in 20 appearances, working 121 innings and punching out 119 batters. He allowed just 22 extra base hits and held opponents to a .214 average at the plate during that span. The Needham, Mass., native has collected three complete games during his time at Babson College, including two during the 2023 season.
Logan Bravo – INF – Gr. – Harvard
A first team All-Ivy and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recipient, Bravo served as the team captain for two years at Harvard. In his time with the Crimson, Bravo posted a career batting average of .302, starting 104 of the 108 games he appeared in. He tallied 35 doubles and 17 home runs, while driving in 81 runs in his four seasons at Harvard. The Andover, Mass., native posted a career-high .355 average at the plate during the 2022 season, collecting 54 hits and boasted a .423 on base percentage. He ranked second in the Ivy League last season in sacrifice flies (4), eighth in doubles (14) and 10th in hits (52). In league play, he stood second in RBI (25) and OPS (1.128), third in homers (5), slugging percentage (.663), OBP (.465), hits (30) and doubles (8), and fourth in average (.375).
Ben Miller – 1B – Gr. – Penn
The 2022 All-Ivy first team recipient, Miller returns home to Durham for his graduate season after and illustrious career with the Quakers. The Durham, N.C., native holds a career batting average of .317 in his 111 games played (109 starts). Miller collected 51 extra base hits during his time at Penn, driving in 91 runs and posting a slugging percentage of .500 during his career. During his senior season at Penn, Miller was one of four players to appear in all 50 games, ranking second on the team in batting average (.319), hits (65), home runs (7), total bases (102), slugging percentage (.500) and OPS (.913). Miller tallied four hits in the Auburn Regional last season, helping guide the Quakers to an extra inning victory over top-seeded Auburn in the regional.
Wyatt Thompson – RHP – Gr. – Chapman University
Thompson joins the Blue Devils this season, after posting a 2.99 ERA during his career at Chapman University. The Oakland, Calif., native collected a 15-7 record on the bump, starting 31 of the 44 games he appeared in. He tallied three complete games, two in 2022, while recording 180.1 innings. The right-handed pitcher has notched 213 career strikeouts, including a career-high 81 in his 2023 campaign.
Peter Gallo – RHP – Gr. – Saint Joseph's
The 2023 Atlantic 10 All-Academic recipient has appeared in 32 games during his career at Saint Joseph's, posting a 4-0 record on the mound. Gallo has recorded 43 innings of work posting a career batting average against of .258. The Ashbury, N.J., native pitched against the Blue Devils in 2023, working three innings of one-hit baseball and scattered six strikeouts, in a 2-1 Duke victory.
Jimmy Evans – OF – Gr. – Tufts University
A 2023
ABCA All-Region third team and All-NESCAC second team recipient, Evans was a .322 career hitter at Tufts University. He has appeared in 93 games (91 starts) with 46 extra base hits. He drove in 86 RBI during his time in Medford, Mass., also adding 17 stolen bases to his line. In the NESCAC Tournament, he tallied back-to-back games posting a 5-for-6 day, helping Tufts finished 31-11 on the season, earning the 2023 NESCAC title and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
John Gassler – LHP – Gr. – NYU
Gassler joins the Blue Devils in 2024 after a four-year career at NYU where he posted a 2.48 ERA on the mound in his 40 appearances (15 starts). In his 116.1 innings he struck out 159 strikeouts and posted a 12-7 career record. The Pittsford, N.Y., native held opponents to a .203 average at the plate. In his final year with the Violets, Gassler recorded a career-high 93 strikeouts in 59.1 innings of work.
Harrison Rodgers – INF – Gr. – Colorado Mesa
The All-RMCA second team selection and All-Tournament Team recipient, as well as the NCBWA National Player of the Week (Feb. 16), finished the 2023 campaign with a .361 average in the 57 games he appeared in. Rodgers posts a .351 career average, with 89 extra base hits and a career slugging percentage of .658. The San Diego, Calif., native has drawn 79 walks and swiped 33 bags throughout his career.
Ben Weaver – OF – Gr. – Wheaton College
Weaver transfers to Duke from Wheaton College after a video game like career for the Thunder. In his final season with Wheaton, Weaver started all 38 games he appeared in posting a batting average of .435 with 32 RBI. He tallied 12 doubles, three triples and two home runs, while stealing nine bases. For his career, the Doylestown, Pa., native has recorded a .391 average at the plate with a .588 slugging percentage. On top of that, he has stolen 28 bases and recorded an on base percentage of .456.
Zac Morris – INF – R-Sr. – VMI
A second team All-SoCon honoree in 2023, Morris joins the Blue Devils for the 2024 campaign. In his final season with the Keydets, Morris batted .317 while starting 55 games with 10 home runs, 48 runs scored and 49 RBI. He earned a spot on the initial watch list for the 2023 Brooks Wallace Award by the College Baseball Foundation for the nation's top shortstop. In his career at VMI, Morris posted a .305 average at the plate, starting 166 games for the Keydets. He collected 186 hits with 30 doubles, seven triples and 24 home runs. He produced 125 RBI with a .496 slugging percentage and 58 total stolen bases.
Wallace Clark – INF – Jr. – Oklahoma
A unanimous 2022 All-Big 12 freshman team selection, Clark joins Duke for the 2024 campaign. The switch-hitting infielder has started 84 of the 95 career games he has played in, posting a .247 average at the plate. He has driven in 45 RBI and among freshman in Oklahoma history was tied for second in walks (32) and tied for fifth in OBP (.397).
