COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Duke women's basketball incoming freshman
Jadyn Donovan was selected as one of 24 athletes to participate in the 2023 USA Women's U19 National Team trials, USA Basketball announced Monday evening.
Trials begin May 12 and will be held at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., with the 12-member team expected to be announced on May 15. The 2023 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup is scheduled for July 15-23 in Madrid. Athletes attending trials were selected by the USA Basketball Women's Junior National Team Committee, chaired by DePaul University women's basketball head coach Doug Bruno.
Donovan is no stranger to USA Basketball, having earned a pair of gold medals as a member of the 2022 FIBA U17 Women's World Cup and 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Championship teams, respectively. A 2023 McDonalds and BallisLife All-American, Donovan was tabbed the Gatorade District of Columbia Girls Basketball Player of the Year after leading Sidwell Friends to a 28-3 overall record and the team's second straight DCSAA Girls AA State Championship.
Slotted No. 3 in the 2023 Class rankings, Donovan led Sidwell Friends in scoring (14.8) and rebounds (8.2), ranked second in blocks (1.1) and field goal percentage (50.0 percent) as well as third in both assists (3.2) and steals (2.1) per game.
The trials roster features eight athletes who enrolled early or were college freshmen in 2022-23, 10 representing the graduating class of 2023 and six representing the class of 2024. To view the full roster, click
