Andrew Healy was named the Dick Howser Player of the Month for April, presented by The Game Headwear, after his impressive 5-0 month on the mound.
The Glen Mills, Pa., native had a strong five-start stretch in April that saw the 6-foot-6 lefty move from an early season reliever to midweek starter to Sunday starter. Over five starts, Healy worked 19 innings, allowing just 11 hits and one unearned run, walking three batters and striking out 23.
Opponents hit just .169 off Healy over the course of the month. On the year, Healy is 5-1 with a 1.69 ERA in 15 games with seven starts. He has worked 32 innings, allowing 27 hits and four walks, while striking out 36.
