COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Duke women's basketball incoming freshman Jadyn Donovan will don the red, white and blue this summer, as she was selected as one of 12 players to the 2023 USA Women's U19 National Team, USA Basketball announced Monday evening. Team USA will compete at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup from July 15-23 in Madrid.
Along with Donovan, the Team USA roster features Madison Booker, Aalyah Del Rosario, Joyce Edwards, Hannah Hidalgo, Londynn Jones, Chloe Kitts, Talana Lepolo, Cotie McMahon, Kiki Rice, Grace VanSlooten and Allie Ziebell. The team was selected by the USA Basketball Women's Junior National Team Committee and will reconvene for training camp in Colorado Springs on July 2.
Donovan is no stranger to USA Basketball, having earned a pair of gold medals as a member of the 2022 FIBA U17 Women's World Cup and 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Championship teams, respectively. A 2023 McDonalds and BallisLife All-American, Donovan was tabbed the Gatorade District of Columbia Girls Basketball Player of the Year after leading Sidwell Friends to a 28-3 overall record and the team's second straight DCSAA Girls AA State Championship.
Slotted No. 3 in the 2023 Class rankings, Donovan led Sidwell Friends in scoring (14.8) and rebounds (8.2), ranked second in blocks (1.1) and field goal percentage (50.0 percent) as well as third in both assists (3.2) and steals (2.1) per game.
