DURHAM – With the NBA playoffs set to begin Tuesday night, the Duke Basketball program is well represented with 16 former Blue Devils on postseason rosters.
Of the 20 teams in the full playoff field, the Brotherhood is represented on 11 – including Duke duos on the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks.

Several postseason-bound Blue Devils had noteworthy regular season performances, highlighted by Tatum leading the NBA in total scoring with 2,225 points and finishing as the first player in Boston Celtics history to average 30 points per game (30.1). Tyus Jones led the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio (5.8) for the fifth consecutive season, while Ingram is on pace for a career scoring year at 24.7 points and scored 42 points with 12 rebounds and seven assists in New Orleans' regular-season finale against the Timberwolves.
Duke's 16 postseason players are the second most of any college nationally, while the ACC's 55 total players are second among conferences. The top three schools for postseason players this year are Kentucky (17), Duke (16) and UCLA (11), while the top three conferences are the SEC (56), ACC (55) and Pac 12 (45).
Duke had 25 players on NBA rosters during the regular season, including two-way and inactive lists, on a total of 18 teams. The 25 former Blue Devils joined by more than 30 former players, coaches, managers and Duke graduates that serve on NBA coaching staffs or in front office roles, including 1984 Duke graduate and NBA commissioner,
Adam Silver.
The playoffs tip-off on Tuesday night with a Play-In Tournament doubleheader on TNT, starting with the Atlanta Hawks (Griffin, Johnson) traveling to play the Miami Heat at 7:30 p.m., followed by a matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves (Moore, Rivers) and Los Angeles Lakers at 10 p.m.
The next two Play-In Tournament games, played on Wednesday on ESPN, feature the Chicago Bulls at the Toronto Raptors (Trent Jr.) at 7:00 p.m., and the New Orleans Pelicans (Ingram, Williamson) hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder at 9:30 p.m.
The final two Play-In Tournament games, played on Friday, sets the field of 16 teams which begin play on Saturday and Sunday.
