DURHAM – Duke women's tennis senior
Chloe Beck has been selected as the PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week following a 2-0 ledger in singles and doubles this past week.
A native of Watkinsville, Ga., Beck helped lead the Blue Devils to road victories at No. 29 Syracuse (6-1) and at No. 48 Boston College (7-0) over the weekend.
Beck went a perfect 2-0 in singles, which included a pair of ranked wins over No. 71 Marice Aguiar of Boston College and No. 95 Zeynep Erman of Syracuse. In Friday's match against the Eagles, Beck reached the 100-win singles and 100-win doubles marks in only 123 matches. She closed the weekend with her 23rd straight ACC regular season dual match win, which broke the Duke mark of 22 held by National Player of the Year Vanessa Webb. With a 21-match singles winning streak, Beck leads the nation.
One of the top doubles players in the country, Beck teamed with
Cameron Morra to go 2-0 over the weekend at the No. 1 doubles slot. The duo, who are ranked No. 32 nationally, have posted a 27-4 ledger on the season, including a 7-1 record in ACC play.
Duke will open a four-match homestand on Friday, March 31 as the Blue Devils host nationally ranked Miami at 2 p.m., outside at Ambler Tennis Stadium.
