DURHAM — Following the conclusion of the regular season Sunday afternoon, the 2023 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament bracket was released with No. 11 Duke earning the second seed and a double-bye into Friday's quarterfinal round.
The tournament features all 15 ACC teams and 14 games, beginning with three first-round matchups Wednesday. Four second-round games are scheduled for Thursday, followed by the quarterfinals Friday, semifinals Saturday and the championship game Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN.
Duke wrapped up one of its best regular seasons in recent history as the Blue Devils posted a 24-5 overall record and a 14-4 mark in the ACC. Their 24 wins are a program-best dating back to the 2017-18 season while the 14 conference wins are the most since 2012-13.
The Blue Devils also featured one of the nation's most prolific defenses, ranking in the top 10 nationally in both scoring defense (third) defensive field goal percentage (eighth). Duke held each of its opponents this season below their respective scoring averages, including 15 to 50 points or less.
Duke takes the court Friday, March 3 at 6 p.m., live on ACC Network, facing the winner of Thursday's second-round game between North Carolina and the winner between 10-seed Clemson and 15-seed Pitt.
