DURHAM – The NCAA released its first Women's Basketball NET Ranking of the 2023-24 season with Duke checking in at No. 24.
Duke at 24th is one of four ACC teams rated in the top 25 of the NET. The other three teams include No. 5 Notre Dame, No. 9 NC State and No. 18 Louisville.
The NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) is the contemporary sorting tool used to measure a team's quality and help evaluate team resumes for selection and seeding in the NCAA tournament. NET ranking is determined by who you played, where you played, how efficiently you played and the result of the game.
Duke, currently 5-3 on the year, has an average opponent NET ranking of 17 and a net non-conference strength of schedule of 13. The Blue Devils are 3-3 against teams ranked in the top 100 of the NET. Duke won each of its games by an average of 27.0 points per game and have held all eight opponents below their respective season scoring averages.
The Blue Devils open ACC action on the road, traveling to Clemson, S.C. for a date with the Tigers on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.
