CHARLOTTE - Gracie Johnson, Kerry Keefe and Jess Robinson were named to the 2023 All-ACC Team, as announced by the league office Monday. Johnson earned the nod on the first team while Keefe and Robinson landed on the second team.
This marks the second consecutive season Johnson has been a first-team selection while Keefe was named to the all-freshman team a year ago.
Johnson was once again Duke's engine this fall with her impressive numbers on both sides of the ball for her final year of eligibility. She finished the fall with 356 kills for 3.36 kills/set, 230 digs, 42 aces and 53.0 total blocks as an all-around player. She notched double-digit kills 21 times to go along with nine double-doubles. With one of the toughest serves in the nation, she produced at least one ace in 22 games and saw seven games with three-or-more blocks. She tied for fourth in the ACC with 0.40 aces/set and tied for ninth in kills/set (3.36). As of Nov. 21, she was the only player in the ACC this season and one of nine in Division I to collect 300+ kills, 42+ aces, 200+ digs and 50+ total blocks.
She cemented herself as one of the Duke greats in the record book throughout the season. She ended her career with 1,489 career kills to rank sixth in program lore and fifth with 163 aces. She finished sixth in total points (1,771.0) and took over first in matches played (136) and sets played (493). She became the 13th player in program history to collect 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in the victory over Wake Forest (11/4).
After being named to the all-freshman team a season ago, Keefe was vital in Duke's offensive success as a sophomore. She finished the year tied for first on the team with 356 kills for 3.36 kills/set, 222 digs, 56.0 total blocks and 29 aces. She recorded double-digit kills in all but three games, including a 10-match streak to end the season, and produced five double-doubles. She hit an impressive .308 percent for the season and saw 10 games with three-or-more blocks.
Robinson closed out her eligibility in Durham after a stellar career at Michigan, and she did not disappoint. She knocked down 244 kills and played to an outstanding .380 hitting percentage for the season, which ranked 10th in the conference. She led the team with 112.0 total blocks and was eighth in the ACC in blocks/set with 1.15. She recorded 10 games with double-digit kills and posted one double-double at her alma mater with 10 kills and 10 total blocks. She produced three-plus blocks in 21 contests this fall and recorded zero errors in six contests. Robinson was vital in disrupting numerous offenses throughout the fall and held six opponents to below a .100 hitting percentage.
Duke finished the year 19-10 overall and 10-8 in the ACC.
