NEED TO KNOW
• Coming off a thrilling draw on Sunday against top-ranked North Carolina, the 23rd-ranked Duke women's soccer team hosts another top-10 opponent Friday, Oct. 13 as the Blue Devils (5-4-3, 1-2-3 ACC) face seventh-ranked Clemson (10-1-3, 4-1-1) at 5 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium.
• Friday's match will also mark the Blue Devils' annual "Pink Game" as Duke will wear pink jerseys and auction them off after.
• It will mark a doubleheader with the Duke men's soccer program as the Blue Devils welcome NC State at 8 p.m., on the ACC Network.
• Friday's women's match versus the Tigers will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with Chris Edwards (PXP) and Brian Hand (Analyst) calling the action.
• Over the last four matches, the Blue Devils have been without four different starters at one point due to injuries --
Emily Royson,
Olivia Migli,
Baleigh Bruster and
Grace Watkins. Royson and Migli have missed four straight games.
• Over the last two seasons, Duke has lost six student-athletes that have gone on to play in the NWSL.
• Duke welcomed 11 newcomers to the 2023 roster as head coach

STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
• Duke's defense has been impressive in the first half the last four matches. The Blue Devils haven't allowed a goal and held opponents to 20 shots.
Leah Freeman has totaled six saves in the first half in those matches.
• The Blue Devils are looking for their first win against a ranked opponent this season (0-4-1).
Kat Rader has scored all four of Duke's goals in those matches. Duke has been outscored 12-4 versus ranked foes. Rader has scored eight career goals against ranked opponents.

Cameron Roller registered her first collegiate assist in the 1-1 draw with top-ranked North Carolina.

Kat Rader leads Duke with seven goals on the season and she owns 19 over her short career. Since scoring goals in each of the first three matches, Rader has been limited to four goals over the last nine contests. She is coming off registering goals in back-to-back games against Pitt and UNC.
• Rader has tallied 11 of her 19 goals against ACC opponents over her short career.
• Since the late loss to Notre Dame, the Duke offense has struggled. The Blue Devils have attempted only 12 shots on goal and scored three goals in four games. One of those goals was a penalty kick. In the last four matches, all three of Duke's goals have come in the second half and all four opponents' goals have also come in the second.
• In both of Duke's home losses to 24th-ranked Southern California and 10th-ranked Notre Dame, the Blue Devils opened the match with a 1-0 lead.

Carina Lageyre posted her first two collegiate goals at Boston College in the ACC opener. She went on to be named ACC Offensive Player of the Week as Duke won 2-0 on the road.

• In her first two seasons, when
Kat Rader scores, the Blue Devils feature a 12-3-2 ledger. She became just the sixth Blue Devil to register goals in each of her first three matches to start a season.
THE SERIES WITH CLEMSON
• Duke and Clemson will meet for the 31st time in school history with the Blue Devils leading the series, 15-13-2.
• The Blue Devils' last match at home versus the Tigers was in 2020 in a game Duke won 1-0.

Ruthie Jones made six stops, including five in the second half in goal.
Michelle Cooper led Duke with six shots, including two on goal.

RADER COMES UP BIG
• Duke needed a goal late against top-ranked North Carolina and the Blue Devils got it as
Kat Rader headed in the equalizer with a minute remaining off assists from
Cameron Roller and
Grace Watkins.
• Rader has now scored goals in back-to-back matches and has seven on the year.
• Her seven goals ranks tied for third in the ACC, while her 16 points ranks tied for sixth.
• Three of Rader's seven goals have come versus league competition.
FREEMAN MAKING STOPS
• Since ACC play has started,
Leah Freeman has registered 21 of her 31 saves over the six matches. She has come up big keeping the Blue Devils in games and totaled four total shutouts on the year.
• Freeman collected a huge penalty kick stop late in the match against North Carolina to keep it a one-goal contest.
• She owns 10 saves over the last two matches, including a season-high six at Pittsburgh.
BIG CONTRAST IN OFFENSES
• Clemson enters the match with a 39-14 advantage in goals. The Tigers 16 goals in ACC play are more than the Blue Devils have scored the entire season (14).
