DURHAM – Duke women's soccer head coach
Robbie Church has announced the addition of Oregon goalkeeper Leah Freeman to the 2023 roster, following an impressive three-year stint with the Ducks.

Freeman, a native of Berkeley, Calif., is coming off a standout junior campaign where she was selected the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year, All-Pac-12 First Team, United Soccer Coaches All-Pacific Region First Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District 8. She led the Pac-12 in saves (114) and saves per game (6.71), while leading all power conference goalkeepers in those categories as well.
"We're really excited to have Leah come and join our soccer family," said Church. "Leah will be a great fit in our program. With the graduation of
Ruthie Jones, we needed to add another goalkeeper to go along with rising sophomore
Caroline Duffy."
Freeman started 17 matches and notched four shutouts on the year. She was tabbed the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week following a career-high 14 save outing in a 2-0 victory over 15th-ranked Washington.
"Leah is one of the top goalkeepers in the country," said Church. "She is very good with her feet, is an excellent shot stopper and is good on crosses. Leah has been playing at a high level at Oregon and was one of the top goalkeepers in the Pac-12 over the last three years. She has tremendous experience and is going to be a really good addition to our goalkeeping core."
Over her three seasons at Oregon, Freeman started all 49 matches, tallied 18 shutouts and 253 saves. She was recognized with All-Pac-12 accolades each of her three years (two first team and one third team) and was a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Pacific Region First Team honoree.
Freeman was tabbed the No. 21 overall player in the TopDrawerSoccer final top-100 national rankings for the 2022 campaign and the No. 2 goalkeeper following her junior campaign.
