Ryan Young's Historic Performance vs. Florida State
- Graduate Ryan Young made Duke history in Saturday's win over Florida State by becoming the first Blue Devil all-time to record a 20-point double-double while not missing a shot from the field or free throw line. He scored 20 points with 12 rebounds while going 7-of-7 from the field and 6-of-6 at the free throw line. The FSU game was his 100th career game (played three years at Northwestern before grad transferring to Duke this year).
- Just six other times in school history has a player scored 20+ points while not missing a shot in a game, including Christian Laettner, Grant Hill, Carlos Boozer (twice), Ryan Kelly and Larry Saunders.Â
- Only 10 other players in Division-I basketball since at least 2010-11 have recorded a 20-point double-double while not missing a shot from the field or free throw line, just two others from power conference teams.
- Young enters the NC State game having made nine consecutive field goals and 18 consecutive free throws -- the team's longest streak this season.
- He ranks third in the ACC (32nd nationally) in offensive rebounds (3.3) and is 13th in offensive rebound percentage (17.7).
- Young is eighth nationally in KenPom's offensive rating metric (140.2), which leads the ACC.

Duke's Depth Emerging

- Graduate Ryan Young's 20-point, 12-rebound effort off the bench led Duke vs. Florida State, while sophomore Jaylen Blakes' career-high 17 points off the bench at Wake Forest marked the first time in his career he led Duke in scoring. Freshman Dariq Whitehead's then-career-high 15 points came in his first career start on Dec. 10 vs. Maryland Eastern Shore -- a game in which Duke started five freshmen for the first time in program history.
- Thanks to Young (20 points) and Whitehead (career-high 16), Duke racked up 46 bench points in the FSU win, the team's most bench points in an ACC game since 2005. It also marked the third-highest percentage of bench points in an ACC game in school history (53.5 percent).
- Duke has used four different starting lineups this season, with Blakes making his first career start against FSU and posting his second straight career-high 17-point effort.
Blue Devils Allowing 60.9 Points -- Second in ACC, 25th Nationally in Scoring Defense; Leads ACC in Three-Point Defense
- Duke is second in the ACC and 25th nationally in scoring defense, yielding just 60.9 points per game. Eleven of the first 14 opponents have been held to less than 70 points, while seven have failed to score more than 60.Â
- Duke has held 13 of the 14 opponents to below their season scoring average -- six scored their then-season low for points, including holding Iowa to a then-season-low 62 and Xavier to 64 (20 points below its average).
