DURHAM – 2021 WNBA Champion and former Duke women's basketball standout Lexie Brown has signed a deal to join ACC Network (ACCN) as a college basketball analyst, the network announced on Thursday. Brown will appear in studio weekly as part of ACCN's Thursday Nothing But Net "Ladies Night" women's basketball coverage, making her debut on Thursday, Jan. 12.
"We are excited to welcome Lexie to the ACC Network team as we continue our expansive women's basketball coverage," said coordinating producer Aaron Katzman. "We look forward to Lexie bringing a unique perspective as a former Duke star, WNBA champ, and current player for the LA Sparks. Viewers will love her insight and personality on camera."
Drafted ninth overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft by Connecticut, Brown played one season with the Sun before making stops in Minnesota (2019, '20) and Chicago (2021), where she helped lead the Sky to the 2021 WNBA Championship with a 3-1 series win against the Phoenix Mercury.
Brown signed with the Los Angeles Sparks ahead of the 2022 campaign – in her first season with the Sparks, and fifth overall in the league, Brown played in 34 games with 16 starts and averaged 7.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. She knocked down her threes at a 39.8-percent clip, which ranked ninth in the WNBA.
Brown had an outstanding collegiate career with Duke, totaling 1,263 points, 277 assists, 218 steals, 142 three-pointers made and 271 rebounds across two seasons with the Blue Devils. Tabbed the 2018 ACC Defensive Player of the Year as well as a two-time Associated Press All-America, two-time First-Team All-ACC and two-time ACC All-Defensive Team selection during her time with the Blue Devils, Brown graduated from Duke in 2017 and then received a graduate degree from the Duke Fuqua School of Business in 2018.
"I am excited to join and be a part of the ACC Network," said Brown. "I have such a passion for basketball and conversation in and around the game and now being able to share that on this platform with some incredible basketball minds is exciting. I have so many incredible memories from my playing days in this conference. I am grateful to be a part of this team and have the opportunity to talk ACC hoops each week."
