DURHAM – Duke cross country freshman
Dalia Frias was tabbed the ACC Cross Country Women's Freshman of the Week following her strong showing at the Virginia Invitational this past weekend.
Frias was the top finisher among all freshmen and placed sixth overall in her collegiate debut with a 5K finish of 17:30.6. Her efforts helped the Blue Devils to a second-place finish with 34 team points in the five-team field, just four points behind the first-place host Cavaliers.
The Hermosa Beach, Calif., native is the second Blue Devil in three weeks to earn ACC Freshman of the Week honors on the women's side, joining classmate
Anna Corcoran who earned the distinction back on
Sept. 6.
Duke is back in action on Sept. 30 when the Blue Devils travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to compete in the Paul Short Invitational.
