DURHAM – Less than a week after opening preseason practice, the second-ranked Duke women's soccer team will hit the road for the first of two exhibition games this week. The Blue Devils travel to Athens, Ga., for a contest Monday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m., at UGA Soccer Stadium at Turner Soccer Complex.
It marks the second straight season the Blue Devils and Bulldogs have met on the pitch, with Duke collecting a 2-0 win last year in Durham. Duke registered two second half goals from
Delaney Graham and
Tess Boade, while
Ruthie Jones and Holly Stam combined for the shutout in goal. Â
In regular season action over the history of the program, the Blue Devils lead the overall series with a 5-2 ledger with the Bulldogs. Â
Georgia is coming off a season where the Bulldogs collected an 11-5-3 ledger, but enters the first year under the direction of new head coach Keidane McAlpine. Â
Duke will close exhibition play by hosting 12th-ranked South Carolina on Friday, Aug. 12. The contest will start at 6 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium and will be free admission. Â

Robbie Church and the Blue Devils return eight starters from a season ago, including 18 letterwinners off a 2021 squad that registered 16 victories, made a trip to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament and finished the season ranked No. 5 nationally. Duke collected a 16-4-1 ledger last season, while turning in a 7-2-1 mark in ACC action.
