Duke Women’s 50th Celebration Partners with Duke Alumni

DURHAM – Duke Athletics is proud to announce that its 50 Years of Women's Varsity Athletics Celebration will now be held in conjunction with Duke Alumni Engagement and Development's biennial Women's Weekend scheduled for March 2023.
A biennial conference for alumnae, faculty members, administrative leaders and current students, Women's Weekend brings together hundreds of Blue Devils to share their experiences, impart wisdom and cultivate relationships.
The event next March, which will serve as the culmination of the department's 50 Years of Duke Women's Varsity Athletics Celebration, also will honor the 50th anniversary of Title IX. Festivities will include a youth sports clinic, gala and recognition of longtime Duke Athletics coach and administrator Jacki Silar, who retired in 2020 following four decades of exemplary service to the university.
Originally slated for Feb. 2, 2022, the event was postponed due to health and safety concerns surrounding the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The March 2023 celebration replaces the event scheduled for June 2022.
A save-the-date invitation will be distributed this coming fall with more details.
