DURHAM – Duke women's tennis checked in at No. 10 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Team Rankings, jumping four spots from its previous ranking of No. 14.
The Blue Devils (13-3, 8-2 ACC) make their return to the top 10 after picking up a pair of 4-3 conference road wins this past weekend at then No. 2 NC State and Wake Forest. Duke's win over the Wolfpack saw the Blue Devils rally from a 3-1 deficit to pick up their fourth victory this season against a ranked opponent.
In addition to its top-10 ranking, Duke also features four singles players and three doubles pairs in the ITA rankings. Junior
Chloe Beck leads the way in singles action at No. 9, followed by 19th-ranked senior
Georgia Drummy and 99th-ranked freshman
Emma Jackson. Senior
Kelly Chen makes her first appearance in the ITA singles rankings, checking in at No. 123.
In doubles play, Duke is led by the sophomore
Karolina Berankova and Drummy – the duo sits 43rd nationally, ascending 37 spots from their previous ranking of No. 80. The tandems of Beck and senior
Margaryta Bilokin, as well as Chen and graduate student
Eliza Omirou, check in at No. 56 and No. 80, respectively.
The Blue Devils are also ranked eighth in the Tennis Channel / USTA College Tennis Top-25 poll.
Duke returns home for its final three matches of the regular season, beginning with tilts against Georgia Tech (April 8) and Clemson (April 10). The Blue Devils will square off against the Yellow Jackets Friday at 6 p.m., before taking on the Tigers Sunday at 12 p.m.
