DURHAM – The fifth-annual Iron Duke's Varsity Club Giving Day was a record-setting success thanks to the support of our donors during the 27-hour fundraiser that benefits Duke's student-athletes, coaches and each of our varsity programs.
This year, with help from 1,832 individual donors, we raised a grand total of $2,566,738 … a record for Giving Day, surpassing last year's $1.93M.
Men's lacrosse led Giving Day with just under $1M raised ($973,953), followed by football ($252,441), women's lacrosse ($165,106) and baseball ($149,840).
Additionally, each year on Giving Day, varsity programs compete in various challenges to vie for further prize money for their Varsity Club Funds. This year's BEAT YOUR BEST challenge asked teams to surpass their previous Giving Day record, with prize money awarded to those who did so by the highest percentages. Thirteen programs "beat their best", led by volleyball, football and field hockey in the top three spots respectively.
Your incredible generosity positively impacts each Duke student-athlete's experience by helping to provide academic support, nutritional services, world-class facilities, top-notch coaching, mental health services and so much more.

On behalf of our student-athletes, our coaches, our staff and Duke Athletics … THANK YOU!
