DURHAM – With the NCAA women's soccer selection show to be aired on Monday, Nov. 7, the Blue Devils are excited to hear when and where they will be playing as the road to the NCAA College Cup gets started next week. Â
The selection show will air live on NCAA.com Monday at 4 p.m., as Duke is expecting to receive its 28th all-time NCAA Tournament bid. The first round of action will kick off the weekend of Nov. 11-13 with one match.
Duke is currently ranked No. 8 in the latest United Soccer Coaches top-25 national rankings and No. 6 in the NCAA RPI, after totaling a 12-4-3 overall record. According to the NCAA, the Blue Devils have played the toughest schedule in the nation as Duke has faced eight top-10 teams.
So far this season, Duke has been led on the scoring front by the dynamic duo of
Michelle Cooper and
Kat Rader, who have combined for 24 goals. Both received top honors from the ACC this past week as Cooper earned ACC Offensive Player of the Year and Rader was named the ACC Freshman of the Year. Â
Cooper, a product of Clarkston, Mich., owns 13 goals and 10 assists on the season. She is one of only two players in the nation to boast 10 or more goals and assists. A native of Stuart, Fla., Rader has collected 11 goals and three assists on the year for 25 points. Her 11 goals is tied for second on the Duke freshman record charts. Â
Duke has been guided in the midfield by senior All-America standout
Sophie Jones and on defense by senior All-ACC selection
Ruthie Jones. The duo has led the Blue Devils to back-to-back NCAA Tournament Quarterfinal appearances. Â
