- Duke unwraps the month of December on Thursday evening as the Blue Devils welcome Northwestern to Cameron Indoor Stadium for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

- The 2022 edition of the ACC/Big Ten Women's Challenge marks the 15th and final installment of the interconference event.
- Entering this year's ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Duke owns the third-most wins of any team in the challenge with an 11-3 overall record, while the Blue Devils' .786 winning percentage checks in as the fourth highest.
- Duke is 7-0 at home in challenge games, with the most recent being a 79-64 win over #9 Iowa last season (12.2.21).
- Defense has been the calling card for the Blue Devils early in the season as the team has held its opponents to a 32.5 percent clip from the field and 50.9 points per game. Those marks check in at 10th and 13th in the NCAA, respectively, while also ranking third and second in the ACC (as of 11.29.22).
- Redshirt junior Jordyn Oliver checks in at No. 15 nationally and second in the ACC with a 3.29 assist-to-turnover ratio (as of 11.29.22). She leads the team with 3.3 assists per game.
- The Blue Devils come into the week after picking up a 54-41 dub over Oregon State in the third-place game of the PK Legacy women's bracket.
- Senior Celeste Taylor (left) erupted for 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and tallied six steals, both season highs, to pace the Blue Devils. She also dished out a team-high four assists.
- Senior Elizabeth Balogun, junior Kennedy Brown and graduate student Mia Heide also had strong games for the Blue Devils as the trio combined for 23 points and 18 rebounds, with Balogun and Brown grabbing a team-high eight boards apiece.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
- Northwestern comes into Thursday's game with a 4-2 overall record following an 81-47 win over Valparaiso.
- Three Wildcat players scored in double figures, led by Sydney Wood's 19 point-five assist-three steal performance. Caileigh Walsh added 18 points and two blocks while Jillian Brown chipped in 17 points, six rebounds and three steals.
- Walsh (13.5) and Wood (11.5) pace the scoring efforts for Northwestern with Courtney Shaw leading the way on the glass with 7.4 rebounds per game. Kaylah Rainey is averaging a team-high 3.8 assists.
- Head coach Joe McKeown is in his 15th year at the helm of Northwestern, tying him for the longest tenured women's basketball coach in school history.
SHARING THE WEALTH
- The Duke quintet of senior Elizabeth Balogun, junior Kennedy Brown, sophomores Shayeann Day-Wilson and Reigan Richardson and senior Celeste Taylor have provided a steady hand for the Blue Devils in the early 2022-23 season, combining for 65.6 percent (45.1 points) of the team's 68.7 points per game.
- Taylor has reached double digits in five of the seven games this season, followed by Balogun, Brown and Richardson who've totaled double-figure scoring in four games.
- Day-Wilson has scored 10-plus points on two occasions.
- Taylor leads the offensive charge for Duke with 11.7 points per game with Balogun in second at 9.7 points a contest.
- Brown (9.3) and Day-Wilson (7.3) are next in line while Richardson has provided instant offense off the bench for Duke with a 7.1 point per game average.
- As a team, the Blue Devils have assisted on 111 of their 186 made field goals (.597) for an average of 15.9 dimes per game.

- Taylor has tallied at least two steals in five of the Blue Devils' seven games this season, including four and six steal efforts against Charleston Southern (11.10.22) and Oregon State (11.27.22), respectively.
