Opening Tip
- No. 8 Duke and No. 24 Purdue will battle Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the Phil Knight Legacy at the Moda Center in Portland.
- Dan Shulman and Jay Bilas are on the call for ESPN, while David Shumate and John Roth call the game on the radio as part of the Blue Devils Sports Network from Learfield.

- In total, Duke has 11 newcomers on the roster -- seven freshmen -- all recruited and signed by Scheyer which comprise the nation's No. 1 recruiting class, and four graduate transfers.
- Of the newcomers, graduate transfer Ryan Young is seventh nationally in offensive rebounds (4.3) and is rated by KenPom as No. 4 nationally in offensive rebound pct. (21.3).
- Junior Jeremy Roach scored 21 -- one shy of career high -- in Friday's win over Xavier, while freshman Mark Mitchell scored 16 -- his fourth double-digit game this season.
- Duke is a combined 93-32 (.744) in 12 current NBA venues, including 5-0 in Portland's Moda Center. The Blue Devils have won 22 of their last 27 at NBA venues.

- Duke leads the ACC and is 11th nationally in scoring defense, yielding just 54.4 points through seven games. Each of the first seven opponents have yet to top 70 points, while five have not scored more than 60.Â
- The Blue Devils held Xavier to a season-low 64 points – the Musketeers were averaging 85.8 points entering the game.
- Of Duke's 14 halves played, the Blue Devils have allowed 30 points or fewer nine times and 25 points or fewer six times.Â
- The Blue Devils are 29th nationally in three-point defense (26.1) and 31st nationally in scoring margin (+18.4).
Stepping Up In The Clutch
- Over its two games in Portland, Duke has held the opponents to 0-of-7 combined from the field in the games' final five minutes.
- Duke's lead was cut to just one (48-47) with an Oregon State layup with 5:03 remaining. But the Beavers finished the game 0-of-3 from the field as the Blue Devils secured a 54-51 victory.
- In the 71-64 Xavier win, the Musketeers last field goal came at 5:15 and XU missed its final four attempts from the field.
- Not just defensively, but Duke's late-game free throw shooting has been a difference. For the season, the team is 19-of-22 (.864) at the free throw in the game's final five minutes, led by Kyle Filipowski's 5-of-6.
Duke's Three-Point Streak
- Duke has connected on at least one three-pointer in 1,160 straight games, the second-longest streak nationally.
- It has been more than 30 years since Duke was held without a three-point field goal -- Dec. 30, 1989, versus Hawai'i.
