DURHAM – The Duke women's basketball team and third-year head coach
Kara Lawson held its annual preseason media day virtually on Monday via Zoom. Lawson, along with select players, met with the media as the 2022-23 hoops season gets set to open in less than two weeks.
The day began with player availability from 10:35 a.m. to 12:25 p.m., followed by Coach Lawson's virtual press conference to close out the afternoon.
Excitement for the upcoming season is building in Durham. Duke returns nine players from last year's roster while also welcoming eight newcomers to the squad – five transfers and a trio of freshmen. The Blue Devils get the season rolling Nov. 5 at 1 p.m., with an exhibition game against Indiana University of Pennsylvania, before officially opening the 2022-23 regular season Nov. 9 against North Carolina A&T at 11 a.m., live on ACC Network Extra.
