- In a battle of teams tied for second in the ACC standings, No. 9 Duke and Notre Dame collide on Big Monday at Purcell Pavilion.

- The Blue Devils began a stretch of three straight road games with a 74-65 win at Louisville on Saturday. Its next two road foes -- Notre Dame and North Carolina -- are a combined 21-0 at home.
- Duke and Notre Dame are meeting for the 36th time, with the Blue Devils leading 27-8, which includes a 75-65 win at Purcell last season.
- Five-time ACC Freshman of the Week, Paolo Banchero is averaging a double-double over Duke's last five games with 17.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and a .524 field goal percentage in that span.Â
- Banchero has set a career high in rebounds in three of the last four games, including 15 at Louisville on Saturday.
- Banchero is sixth in the ACC in scoring (17.6), fifth in rebounding (8.3), ninth in field goal pct. (.500) and leads all power conference true freshmen nationally in scoring. In ACC play, his 18.9 points lead the conference, while his 9.4 rebounds are second.
- Sophomore Mark Williams, a finalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, leads the ACC and is 11th nationally in blocks (3.2). Williams is Duke's second leading scorer and rebounder over the last five games with 14.6 points and 9.2 boards.
- Freshman AJ Griffin set a Duke freshman record for three-point accuracy with his 5-of-5 at Louisville on Saturday, matching career highs in points (22) and made three-pointers (five).
- Griffin is one of only 13 players nationally averaging .500 or better from three-point range with a minimum of 50 attempts. He is one two major conference players, the only major conference freshman and one of four freshmen nationally doing so.
- Duke enters the game with the nation's third best assist/turnover ratio of 1.72 and the team has assisted on 70 percent of its field goals over the last five games; 60 percent for the season.
- The Blue Devils also rank top 15 nationally and lead the ACC in field goal shooting, assists, scoring margin, scoring offense and blocks.
DUKE VS. NOTRE DAME
Monday's game is the 36th meeting between Duke and Notre Dame, with the Blue Devils leading, 27-8 ... The teams split a pair of games last season -- Duke winning at ND, 75-65, on Dec. 16 and the Irish winning at Cameron, 93-89, on Feb. 9 … Since joining the ACC, the series favors Duke 8-6 (6-4 in the regular season) and the Blue Devils have won seven of the last eight … Four of the meetings have come in the ACC Tournament, with Duke winning 75-69 in the 2017 championship game and 88-70 in the 2018 quarterfinals -- both in Brooklyn … Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey is a former Duke assistant coach under

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING IRISH
Notre Dame enters Monday's game having won five straight and 10 of its last 11, including a 69-65 win over Virginia Saturday at home … Senior Dane Goodwin and freshman Blake Wesley lead the team in scoring at 15.4 and 15.0 points per game, respectively … Goodwin is shooting .516 from the field and .500 (48-of-96) from three-point range to join Duke's
AJ Griffin as one of the 13 players nationally shooting .500+ from three with at least 50 attempts … As a team, Notre Dame's .379 three-point percentage ranks fourth in the ACC. The Irish are shooting .411 from downtown in conference play, which ranks third … Only one team has scored 80+ points on the Irish this season -- an 82-72 loss at Illinois on Nov. 29.
COACH K TO HONOR TOM KONCHALSKI
Mike Krzyzewski will honor the late Tom Konchalski, a basketball legend who is on the ballot for the Naismith Hall of Fame, during Monday's game at Notre Dame using a special coaching clipboard and letterhead … Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey will join Coach K in honoring Konchalski and helping raise awareness of the Tom Konchalski Foundation that was created following his passing from prostate cancer last February. Both head coaches will use exclusive coaching boards during the game that bear the Konchalski Foundation logo … Tom influenced the lives of thousands of young men over his 50-year career by evaluating their high school basketball skills and sharing his analysis with college coaches across the nation … Coach K serves on the Advisory Board of the Konchalski Foundation.
ON THIS DATE
Duke is 17-8 all-time when playing on Jan. 31 and has won four straight and six of the last seven … Duke last played on this date in 2015 -- a 69-63 win at Virginia … On this date in 2002, Duke handed North Carolina an 87-58 loss at the Dean Smith Center to become to the first team to win four straight games in Chapel Hill. The 32-point win still stands as the largest road margin for Duke against UNC in the Coach K era.

Duke began a stretch of three straight and five of its next six on the road with a 74-65 win at Louisville on Saturday … It marks the first time Duke will play a stretch of five of six games on the road in conference play since the 1991-92 season … Duke is also playing consecutive road ACC games with a one-day turnaround for the first time since the 2016-17 season (Jan. 28 win at Wake Forest, 85-83; Jan. 30 win at Notre Dame, 84-74) … The Blue Devils also have consecutive road games with a one-day turnaround at the end of this road stretch -- Feb. 10 at Clemson and Feb. 12 at Boston College … Duke's next two road opponents -- Notre Dame (9-0) and North Carolina (12-0) -- are a combined 21-0 at home this season.
SHARING AND SHOOTING THE ROCK
Duke enters the game with the nation's third best assist/turnover ratio of 1.72. The Blue Devils also rank top 15 nationally and lead the ACC in field goal shooting (.488, ranked 11th in the NCAA) and assists (17.9, ranked tied for seventh) … Duke has had a positive assist/turnover ratio in 18 of 20 games -- its only games with a negative ratio came in wins over Kentucky (9 turnovers, 8 assists) and Virginia Tech (11, 10) … The Blue Devils posted their best assist percentage in the Jan. 22 win over Syracuse, dishing out 25 assists on 30 made field goals (83 percent). Jeremy Roach has 29 points, 29 assists, four turnovers and 14 rebounds over Duke's last four games … He matched his career high of nine assists in consecutive games against Syracuse and Clemson, while also providing key offense for the Blue Devils to help close out the Tigers last Tuesday night … With 4:40 left, Roach's three gave Duke a 63-61 lead and then he canned a jumper with 3:05 remaining to tie the game at 65-65 … The sophomore grabbed a defensive board that led to a
Joey Baker bucket to make it 67-65 Duke at 2:15, and his entry pass to
Paolo Banchero in the post -- his ninth assist of the game -- sealed the victory with 10 seconds remaining for a 71-67 lead … For the season, Roach is second in the ACC in assist/turnover ratio (2.92) and seventh in assists (3.8) … Roach had a pair of impressive scoring games versus Notre Dame last season -- 14 points on 5-of-6 from the field and 2-of-3 from three on the road and 16 points on 7-of-12 (2-of-4 from three) at home.

In the Coach K era, Duke is 265-154 (.632) in true road games and 279-77 (.784) in neutral site games, for a combined mark of 544-231 (.706) in all games outside of Cameron Indoor Stadium … In ACC regular-season play, Duke is 194-128 (.602) away from home under Coach K … Coach K's 194 ACC road wins are a conference record … Coach K has also won 16 road games against AP top five teams, the most in the history of the AP poll.
