DURHAM – In accordance with Duke University policy and local regulations, Duke Athletics will begin its fall season with a mask mandate in place for fans and spectators.
Guests are encouraged to follow the guidelines below and do their part to ensure a safe and healthy gameday for all guests and gameday staff. Duke will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our extended community. We strongly encourage all individuals to be fully vaccinated before attending events on the Duke University campus and expect all visitors to adhere to university, local, and state guidelines.
Guidelines are subject to change throughout the season. Please check
GoDuke.com/staysafe and follow @Duke_GAMEDAY on Twitter for updates leading up to gameday.
- Duke University now requires masks/face coverings for all individuals in indoor public spaces regardless of vaccination status. In addition, the city and county of Durham have implemented an indoor mask mandate effective 5:00 PM on August 9th.
- Under the mandate, masks/face coverings are required indoors for all guests over the age of 5 regardless of vaccination status. Masks/face coverings are required at all times except when actively eating or drinking. Please note that indoor areas of outdoor venues (e.g. restrooms, indoor premium/hospitality areas, first aid locations, etc.) are included in this requirement.
- Reasonable accommodations for guests with medical or behavioral conditions or disabilities will be available following the provisions of the mandate. Please contact Duke University Disability Management for assistance.
- Masks/face coverings are required for all guests utilizing Duke Transit services – including game day courtesy shuttles and accessible lift-equipped vans for accessibility assistance (when applicable).
- Stay Home if Feeling Sick. Guests should not attend a game if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, new loss/change in taste or smell, or have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
- An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is a contagious disease that can lead to severe illness, with individuals over 65 years of age and with underlying medical conditions being especially vulnerable. By attending an athletic event on the campus of Duke University, the individual assumes all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Duke is committed to promoting a safe environment for all gameday guests.
