Six Blue Devils Named ITA Scholar-Athletes

DURHAM, N.C. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced its yearly academic awards, with Duke women's tennis being named a 2021 ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, six Blue Devils have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Redshirt senior Meible Chi, seniors Kelly Chen and Hannah Zhao, juniors Margaryta Bilokin, Georgia Drummy and sophomore Chloe Beck have been named to this year's list. Incoming Blue Devil transfer Eliza Omirou also earned an ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction.
It marks the fourth and third straight year that Zhao and Bilokin have been named to the prestigious list, respectively. Beck and Chi have been selected for the second time, while Chen and Drummy were named for the first time.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
