Blue Devils Land 10 on All-ACC Academic Team

DURHAM – Ten members of the Duke women's soccer team were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the 2020-21 season, the conference announced Wednesday.
Duke's 10 selections match the program record set in 2017, and tie Florida State for the most in the conference this season. The Blue Devils have earned at least five All-ACC Academic honorees each year since 2006.
Duke's representatives on this year's team included seniors Tess Boade, Caitlin Cosme, Mia Gyau and Taylor Mitchell, juniors Delaney Graham, Marykate McGuire and Mackenzie Pluck, sophomores Ruthie Jones and Sophie Jones, and freshman Maggie Graham.
Delaney Graham picks up All-ACC Academic status for the third time in her career. The versatile defender from Atlanta, Ga., has garnered a number of accolades for her efforts both on and off the pitch this past season, including All-ACC Third Team, United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team and CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors. Graham is one of nine players on this year's All-ACC Academic Team to earn the distinction for a third time.
Mitchell (2017), Sophie Jones (2019), McGuire (2019) and Pluck (2019) each received their second career All-ACC Academic recognition. The honor adds to an extensive list of awards for Jones this season, highlighted by United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team and All-Atlantic Region First Team status, as well as All-ACC First Team and TopDrawerSoccer.com Best XI Second Team selections.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
