Ian Siebers shot his second consecutive round under par and recorded a top-20 finish to lead the Duke men's golf team at the NCAA Noblesville Regional, which concluded Wednesday at the Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Ind.
Siebers finished tied for 18th overall on the individual leaderboard, firing a 1-under 71 on Wednesday for a 54-hole total of 1-under 215. As a team, the Blue Devils concluded their 2020-21 season by finishing in 12th place at the regional with a 54-hole team score of 33-over 897.
The five lowest scoring teams from the Noblesville Regional advanced to next week's NCAA Championship in Scottsdale, Ariz., led by regional champion Texas, which shot 20-under as a team. Tennessee and North Carolina were tied for second at 15-under, followed by Louisville (-10) and UAB (-5).
A freshman from Bellevue, Wash., Siebers played a steady round on Wednesday that featured birdies on the par-5 14th, the par4-4 16th and the par-4 first hole, countered by just two bogeys. He played the final 36 holes of the championship in 4-under par after opening with a 75 as a steady rain fell during Monday's first round.
Siebers capped his freshman campaign with a scoring average of 71.07, which led the team and set the Duke freshman single-season record. The previous mark of 72.15 was set by senior
Adrien Pendaries in 2018-19. Siebers also tied the Duke freshman record for rounds under par (16) and finished tied for third on the Duke freshman list in top 20 finishes (7).
Also for the Blue Devils at the regional, Pendaries shot a 78 on Wednesday and was tied for 54th at 10-over 226. Senior

Qi wen Wong each finished tied for 63rd at 15-over 231. DiLisio posted a 78 on Wednesday, while Wong carded a 79.
Purdue's Cole Bradley was the individual medalist, finishing two strokes clear of the field at 10-under, thanks to his final-round 65.
