DURHAM – No. 41 Duke shifted to 6-0 at home this year after it defeated Boston College, 6-1, on Friday afternoon in an ACC battle at Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.

The Blue Devils improved their overall record to 9-7 and 4-3 in ACC play, while Boston College fell to 2-7, 0-7, respectively.

Faris Khan made quick work of Santiago Montufar and Max Mendelsohn on court three following their 6-2 victory to kick off doubles action. The sophomore duo of
Michael Heller and
Andrew Zhang then clinched the doubles point on court two after beating Shreekar Eedara and Mason Fung, 6-1. The battle between Duke's
Sean Sculley and
Edu Güell and Boston College's Max Motlagh and Sean Mullins went unfinished on the main court with the visitors leading, 4-3.

On court two, Keist made it 2-0 in favor of the Blue Devils after he bested Motlagh, 6-4, in the opening set of singles play before winning by medical forfeit prior to the start of the second. No. 102 Güell increased Duke's lead to 3-0 when he defeated Sean Mullins on the top court 6-2, 6-2.

Freshman
Andrew Dale then secured the match for the Blue Devils on court five after winning his opening set 6-0 before going on to register the 6-2 victory in the second. Fellow classmate Khan followed suit on court four a few minutes later with Duke's four consecutive win in singles action. The Delray Beach, Fla., native bested Eedara 6-1, 6-1 to hand the Blue Devils the 5-0 edge.

Boston College registered its lone win on court three after Mendelsohn defeated
Samuel Rubell 6-3, 7-5.

Heller then wrapped things up by earning Duke's final victory on the day on court six when he beat Fung 6-4, 6-3.
The Blue Devils will hit the road Sunday for an away match at nearby No. 2 North Carolina. The 1 p.m. contest with the Tar Heels is slated for the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Live stats and video will be available.
