DURHAM – No. 41 Duke is set for two ACC tennis matches this weekend when it hosts Boston College on Friday before traveling to No. 2 North Carolina on Sunday.

Friday's 3 p.m. contest against the Eagles is scheduled to be the Blue Devils' first match at Ambler Tennis Stadium this season. Sunday's nationally ranked matchup will take place at the Tar Heels' Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center at 1 p.m.

Duke is coming off a 5-2 victory over No. 40 Liberty on Wednesday in which
Andrew Zhang recorded his team-leading 10th singles victory of the year.

HISTORY WITH BOSTON COLLEGE
Friday's match will be the 17th all-time meeting between the two programs. Duke heads into the contest undefeated against the Eagles at 16-0, including a 6-1 victory during the teams' last outing on April 7, 2019.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College sits at 2-6 overall and 0-6 in ACC action. The Eagles are coming off back-to-back wins over Merrimack and Siena, registering 6-1 and 7-0 victories, respectively, last weekend. Â Against the Saints, the doubles tandem of Max Motlagh and Sean Mulins cruised to a 6-0 win, while Shreekar Eedara and Mason Fung secured the doubles point with a 6-3 victory. BC then continued its momentum into singles action, sweeping all six matches.

HISTORY WITH NORTH CAROLINA
The Blue Devils and Tar Heels will meet for the 133rd time on Sunday with Duke holding the 92-40 all-time edge on the series. North Carolina heads into the match riding an eight-game winning streak over the Blue Devils, including a 4-1 victory during the teams' last meeting on Feb. 28, 2019. The last Duke win came on April 20, 2014 when the No. 14 ranked Blue Devils topped No. 8 North Carolina, 5-2.

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina, who is currently ranked No. 2 in the most recent Oracle/ITA Division I men's rankings, holds a 13-1 record on the year and a 5-1 mark in ACC action. The Tar Heels lone loss, a 6-1 defeat, came during their last outing at No. 6 Virginia on Sunday, March 28. The senior-junior doubles duo of William Blumberg and Brian Cernock are ranked fifth in the nation and are 8-3 on the year. Blumberg is also rated as the No. 61 singles player in the country, while Cernoch comes in a few behind him at No. 66. Joining them in the national rankings for singles action is Rinky Hijikata (Np. 33), Simon Soendergaard (No. 75), and Benjamin Sigouin (No. 80).

Duke University will begin the spring sport season without spectators at home events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Contests played on Duke's campus will only include game management personnel and broadcast media.
