Mark Williams have been named to the 2021 All-ACC Academic Men's Basketball Team that was announced Tuesday.
This marks the 27th consecutive season Duke has had at least one selection to the All-ACC Academic Team. With four this season – the program's most since five picks in 2015 – Duke now boasts 100 all-time All-ACC Academic selections.
Moore, a sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., is a repeat All-ACC Academic selection. He is Duke's fourth-leading scorer this season, averaging 9.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, and has started 16 games. Steward has started 20 games and the ACC All-Freshman selection from Chicago is the league's leading freshman scorer at 13.0 points per contest. Williams has emerged as a front court standout for Duke and the Virginia Beach, Va., native is averaging 6.1 points and 4.0 rebounds while ranking seventh in the ACC in blocked shots. Brakefield, a native of Jackson, Miss., has given Duke key minutes off the bench, highlighted by 11 points, five rebounds and four blocks in a win over Virginia.
To be eligible for consideration to the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
